Preparing for the Big Event

The Greatest Gathering at Alstom’s Derby plant, once known as Derby Carriage and Wagon Works, is getting very close.

Jamie Keyte and daughter Ella delivered our smokebox and front end plinth and our LNWR toolbox today, and dressed it with a flag and bunting to mark Prince George’s recent 12th birthday.  More is to come on Thursday, we will have a large banner and our photo display.  Jamie has an album of photographs of the build from its early days, which is very interesting.

Our stand is right at the end of U shop, strategically placed so that people can see our display from the other end.

It’s going to be a great show, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as can get there.
